What is the language of the future and which are the best languages to study for business?<\/h1>\n

As we saw in the article\u00a0Interesting facts and statistics about the world\u2019s languages<\/em><\/a>, around 2300 languages are spoken all over the world today. From ancient languages, to invented languages to languages on the verge of extinction. But the real question is, what will be the language of the future?<\/p>\n

In other words, which language should we study now to have greater success in the business world in the future? In this article we will try to eliminate any doubts and find a helpful answer to this compelling question.<\/p>\n

What will the language of the future be?<\/h2>\n

Before we start, it\u2019s important to point out that there isn\u2019t a definitive answer to this question. Depending on the professional sector a person works in or in which they are interested, the answer can differ, and by quite a lot.<\/p>\n

For example, if we are looking at the world of business, the language of the future (and also of the present) is undoubtedly English. In today\u2019s multicultural, globalised landscape, English has established itself as the language to know\u00a0if you want to work abroad<\/a>\u00a0or if you want to participate in international trade relations.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, there are other schools of thought that think that whilst this is definitely true for the current climate, in the future, things may well change. When speaking about the languages of the future or which languages to study in the following years, it would be wrong to omit Chinese Mandarin from this list.<\/p>\n

Is Chinese the language of the future?<\/h2>\n

When considering the language of the future and which languages to learn in the coming years, one of the first that comes to mind is undoubtedly Chinese Mandarin. In fact, after English, Chinese is the most spoken language in the world right now with over 1 billion, 120 million speakers worldwide.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s no secret that China is the new global economic power and for a few years now it has overtaken the USA in terms of GDP. Its manufacturing and technology industries are growing at an astonishing speed and therefore it\u2019s no surprise that the global economy is shifting ever more towards the east.<\/p>\n

For this reason, to remain competitive in a business market that is consistently more demanding and globalised, it is becoming increasingly more import to have even just basic knowledge of this language of the future.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, learning Chinese is as important as it is difficult. Being a tonal language, it is very different to Italian or any European language for that matter. For this reason, it requires more time to learn.<\/p>\n

Among the languages which are predicted to have a growing importance in the future, we can\u2019t ignore Spanish as one of the most promising. With approximately 500 million speakers, this language is fourth in the list of most spoken languages in the world.<\/p>\n

Spanish is widespread in much of Central and Southern America, the Philippines and of course Spain, making it a language with a real global reach.<\/p>\n

Aside from the fact that knowing Spanish can be useful for travelling or managing commercial relations between Italy and Spain, there are also other reasons that make this language one really worth learning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

First of all, being able to speak Spanish can be an advantage for people looking for work, because many companies request their employees speak a second language and the need for Spanish is on the rise. Secondly, one can\u2019t ignore the enormous cultural impact that Spanish culture has had especially on literature, art and history.<\/p>\n

Learning this language can therefore offer a unique opportunity to explore these areas and discover the huge cultural influence that Spanish has had all over the world. In a nutshell, Spanish is a language with an enormous global reach and learning it can open many doors, both personally and professionally.<\/p>\n
